Our church has been involved with Love Southend since it started in late 2004. One of our Leadership Team was a founding member of the Core Team and is now a member of the Love Southend "Servant" (Leadership) Team.

Southend Christian Counselling Service (SCCS) was established about 15 years ago, and is managed and operated by a team of Christian Trustees. Members of our church have used the service and speak highly of it.

The following text was provided by SCCS:
"At some time in our lives we all find there are problems and difficulties that we cannot face on our own, we need someone to talk to, someone who is outside our usual circle of friends and family, someone who will stand by us, but not take us over.
Counselling is a way for you to understand more about your thoughts, feelings and actions. We aim to help you explore the problems and difficulties you face and to then help you towards discovering your own solutions.
At SCCS, you can expect your counsellor to be well trained and competent; an experienced person who is genuinely interested in you and will want the best for you!"

You can contact the SCCS 24 hours a day on 01702 335252 or by e-mail at enquiries@christiancounselling.info

The Churches’ Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS) is the only independent Christian charity providing professional advice, disclosure checks CRB/ISA), support, training and resources in all areas of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and for those affected by abuse throughout the UK.

Their services are used not only by churches and groups across the denominational spectrum, but increasingly by other faiths as well as non-faith based organisations keen to utilise the resources and expertise they offer. They also give advice to Children's Services Departments, Adult Social Services, Police and other agencies across the UK.

Westcliff Free Church use the CCPAS as the "umbrella body" for the CRB checks needed for all those working with our children and young people. They have approved our Safeguarding Policy and we strongly recommend their services.
